When it comes to guitar players Stav is one of the best around. He is able to cover a wide range of styles, from AC/DC rock, to pop, to the modern country. His playing style can be described as tasteful and rhythmic, but he can also thrash out the harder rock tunes with the best.

He's commented that if he weren't a guitar player he would probably be a drummer, and I believe this awareness of fills and syncopation shows in his playing style. His attention to detail and his ability to capture the original artists sound are other great skills he possesses.

In addition to performing with MJ Stav is active in other areas of the music industry. He does studio recording, teaches guitar, and in addition is a part-time photographer.
